If you're planning your Saturday around the Tide, here's the setup. No. 5 Alabama visits No. 14 LSU in Baton Rouge at 2:30 p.m. CT on ABC. It's the last time the two play annually after the SEC unveiled new permanent opponents under its new scheduling format. TimesDaily notes the two have spent decades giving fans a reason to mark their calendars.

  • Alabama out: LBs Umeozulu and Jones, DB Sherman, DL Beaman
  • Alabama doubtful: QB Jett Thomalla
  • LSU out: S Spears, WR Wright, LB Ross, DT Anderson
  • LSU doubtful: LB Whit Weeks

That's Wednesday night's initial SEC availability report. Alabama expects to have Racin Delgatty, Ryan Coleman-Williams, EJ Crowell, Terrance Green and Zabien Brown back, according to head coach Kalen DeBoer. Touchdown Alabama reports all five are dealing with lower-body injuries, and each has a shot at playing. If left guard William Sanders can't go, Mal Waldrep Jr. would fill in.

Crimson Tide

Kalen DeBoer has won all eight games he's coached after a bye week since 2021

If the Tide's last few games have you nervous, here's a number to hold onto. Since the start of 2021, Kalen DeBoer is 8-0 after a bye week, including 4-0 at Alabama. Lane Kiffin is 9-6 after one in his career and 0-3 against Alabama with extra rest. Alabama comes in at 6-2, after a 31-20 homecoming win over Texas A&M and the bye.

All four are listed as questionable. DeBoer said Monday that "the progress by all of them is heading in a good direction," and he previously said Sanders' recovery would likely take two to three weeks. His post-bye wins include Oregon State, Oregon, Georgia and LSU.
