- ➤ Habitat for Humanity & ABC 33/40 kicked off the 23rd year of their holiday tradition in Pleasant Grove by beginning to build homes for the Foy and Kelly families. The families will move into their new homes in about two and a half weeks, just in time for Christmas. ABC 33/40
- ➤ Tuscaloosa’s Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority chapter is hosting a holiday Stuff-a-Truck event on December 5 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Shelton State's C.A. - ➤ The University of Alabama has launched TSA PreCheck enrollment services on campus through a partnership with CLEAR at the UA Passport Acceptance Facility, the only location in Tuscaloosa County offering this service. - ➤ Tuscaloosa City Schools honored 21 teachers, 23 support staff, and local community partners during the Apple Awards ceremony for their roles in supporting education—Teacher of the Year winners will advance to a statewide competition. - ➤ Researchers at the Human Technology Interaction Lab in Tuscaloosa are teaching students with an AI-powered robot dog called PuppyPi—designed to follow simple voice commands that trigger actions like sitting and pushups.
