- ➤ Members of the University of Alabama Student Veterans Association and Auburn University Student Veterans Association marched at Bryant-Denny Stadium on Nov. 26th to raise awareness of veteran suicide—each carried 22 pounds of donated materials and 22 dog tags to honor veterans lost each day. More than 160 participants are on a three-day trip that will include a 50-mile hike, a 2.5-hour walk after a five-hour rest and a delivery of a ceremonial game ball at the Iron Bowl coin toss. - ➤ With record Thanksgiving travel underway, Alabama law enforcement is increasing patrols and urging drivers to slow down, buckle up, and obey the Move Over law to keep highways safe — officials noted a 31% drop in traffic fatalities so far but warn that speeding and distracted driving remain risks — while ALDOT has suspended temporary lane closures from Wednesday until Sunday to ease congestion. - ➤ Hale County Hospital in Greensboro earned the Diamond Impact Award—recognizing its new fellowship program that gives local youth hands-on healthcare experience—and plans to expand community wellness efforts.
