- ➤ AT&T is sponsoring Thanksgiving turkey giveaways in Tuscaloosa on Monday, Nov 24. One Place and United Way of Alabama will hand 35 turkeys at 810 27th Avenue from 9:30-11 a.m.—Temporary Emergency Assistance with United Way will distribute another 35 turkeys at 1705 15th Street from 3:30-5:30 p.m. WBRC
- ➤ On Nov 21, the Beat Auburn Beat Hunger food drive set a record in Tuscaloosa by collecting 630,624 pounds of food at the West Alabama Food Bank, though Auburn collected 18,000 pounds more. - ➤ University of Alabama softball players shopped for toys and sports items at Academy Sports in Tuscaloosa last Thursday as part of West Shore Home’s Toys for Tots event—supporting children in need this holiday season. The outing followed West Shore Home donating over 10,000 toys and $40,000 to the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation since 2021. WBRC
- ➤ The annual Beat Auburn Beat Hunger food drive ended after its seven-week run and set a record when West Alabama donated 630,624 pounds of food, beating last year's 431,120 pounds as Alabama & Auburn raised over 1.2 million pounds for local food banks. Tide 100.9

- ➤ State and local agencies ended a week-long search today when they found 47-year-old fisherman Larry James’s body in the Black Warrior River near Lock 8 at 11:00 a.m.—his wallet and cellphone were later recovered from the drifting boat. Tide 100.9
- ➤ A plaque honoring a pedestrian killed by a car has been installed in Tuscaloosa & serves as a memorial for the victim. WBRC

- ➤ Rickwood Caverns State Park is hosting its 9th annual Wonderland Under Warrior holiday attraction today and it will run through Jan. 4; the event features holiday lights, characters, and photo opportunities with Santa from Nov. 28-Dec. 22 while regular cave tours are paused.
