  • Yesterday, downtown Tuscaloosa hosted the University of Alabama homecoming parade—fans lined University Blvd to cheer the parade floats—before the Crimson Tide game with Oklahoma.  The Tuscaloosa News

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Morgan Grzybowski, a senior majoring in biology, was named the 2025 Homecoming Queen on Nov. 14 at a pep rally—she was crowned during halftime of Saturday’s Oklahoma-Alabama game at 2:30 p.m.—and she selected Remote Area Medical as the beneficiary of the Homecoming Queen Endowed Fund.  ABC 33/40

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • Tuscaloosa apartment rents increased 5% from last October’s median of $1,400 to about $1,476—though they are 8% below last month’s $1,611 peak—with one-bedroom listings rising 7% and two-bedrooms up 4% from September, according to Zumper data.  The Tuscaloosa News

  • Tuscaloosa Academy defeated Pleasant Valley 23-13 in a playoff game — the Knights relied on strong defense and key plays by Mark Norris — and they now prepare for a road rematch with Coosa Christian.  Tide 100.9
  • Alabama lost its home game 23-21 to Oklahoma at Bryant-Denny Stadium—turnovers and missed chances cost the Tide its lead. The defeat left Alabama 8-2 and in a tough spot to secure an SEC title and a College Football Playoff berth.  Tide 100.9
  • Alabama high school football playoffs will begin their Round 3 on Nov 21, with AHSAA games set to kick off at 7 p.m. and AISA championship matchups scheduled for Nov 20 at the Cramton Bowl — the brackets cover teams in classes from 7A to 1A.  The Tuscaloosa News
  • Less than 90 minutes remain before kickoff at Bryant-Denny Stadium as the SEC released the final availability report for Alabama and Oklahoma. Alabama names linebacker Qua Russaw and linebacker Cayden Jones as game-time decisions, while defensive back DaShawn Jones is confirmed and Oklahoma reports cornerback Gentry Williams out and defensive tackle Jayden Jackson as a game-time decision — details raise lineup questions ahead of the game — with kickoff set for 2:30 p.m. CT.  Tide 100.9
