- ➤ During a busy weekend in Tuscaloosa, Alabama football beat Vanderbilt 30-14 at Bryant-Denny Stadium while top prospect Qayden Samuels made his first official visit to see the Tide. He is a 5-star recruit from Bishop NcNamara with offers from many schools and has not yet decided his commitment. The Tuscaloosa News
- ➤ Alabama quarterback Ty Simpson led the SEC in passing yards with a 340-yard game against Vanderbilt on Oct. 4. He totaled 1,478 yards in five games and boosted his team's offense—making him the conference's top passer. Tuscaloosa Thread
- ➤ Former Alabama guard Chris Youngblood scored 20 points in 21 minutes on Sunday in his NBA preseason debut for the Thunder — he shot 5-of-8 from 3-point range during the team’s 135-114 win over the Hornets and his strong play may earn him a two-way contract. Tuscaloosa Thread
- ➤ Alabama wide receivers Horton, Williams, and Bernard have recorded 64 receptions and 11 touchdowns through five games as key targets for quarterback Ty Simpson. They will continue to test opposing defenses as the Crimson Tide advance through the season. Tuscaloosa Thread
- ➤ After defeating ranked Vanderbilt last Saturday, Alabama secured a commitment from three-star offensive lineman Jared Doughty (from Banneker High School in Atlanta) who chose the Crimson Tide over offers from Georgia, Ohio State, Florida State, and Auburn. Doughty will begin his official visits on October 11, starting with Florida State, as Alabama builds a strong 2026 recruiting class. Tide 100.9
- ➤ On Oct. 5, Jared Doughty, a 2026 three-star offensive lineman from Atlanta who attends Banneker High School, committed to Alabama football through 247Sports.
