- ➤ Bed Bath & Beyond completed a $10 million deal to buy Kirkland's on Sept 15 as part of its effort to recover after bankruptcy. - ➤ Tomorrow, Tuscaloosa Mayor Walt Maddox and city leaders will cut the ribbon for the $70 million McWright’s Ferry Road project—featuring a new pedestrian pathway and a North River bridge named for Ruth and Leroy McAbee—in north Tuscaloosa. The project paves the way for Northern Riverwalk Phase 2 to begin next year and connect the area to downtown. ABC 33/40
- ➤ Earlier this week, Rep. Terri Sewell introduced H.R.842—named for her late mother who died from pancreatic cancer—to let Medicare cover new blood tests for early cancer detection once FDA-approved.
