- ➤ Police are investigating a shooting at a local dice game held late Friday at Cottondale Efficiency Apartments on Kyle Court — off University Boulevard — where a victim suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound and the shooter fled before officers arrived. Tuscaloosa Thread

- ➤ On August 30th, Florida State stunned Alabama 31 to 17 when new quarterback Tommy Castellanos rushed for 78 yards and scored a touchdown, ending the Crimson Tide’s 23 game win streak in season openers—adding pressure on coach Kalen DeBoer. Alabama will host Louisiana-Monroe next Saturday. WBRC
