  • Eighteen UA faculty and staff have been named to the 2025-2026 Leadership U class from the Office for Academic Affairs to prepare for greater responsibilities. They will take part in a four-part series on leading self, others and campus plus join a Lunch with Leaders series to learn about UA’s goals.  The University of Alabama
  • UA physicists Dr. Matchev and Dr. Gleyzer are leading quantum machine learning research that could boost breakthroughs in fields like drug discovery and cybersecurity. The university will offer its first quantum computing classes in fall 2025 and spring 2026 — a move that builds on major collaborations with national teams.  The University of Alabama

  • Alabamians will vote in municipal elections on Tuesday, Aug. 26. Voters must register by Monday, Aug. 11—polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and require a valid photo ID.  WBRC

  • Alabama center Parker Brailsford was named to the Rimington Award Watch List on Tuesday for the 2024 season—marking his second time and his inclusion on both the Outland Trophy and Lombardi Award Watch Lists.
