  • Dr. John Friel from the Alabama Museum of Natural History found an 84-million-year-old hadrosaur tooth in Shark Tooth Creek at Aliceville, which is rare in Alabama since land here rarely preserves dinosaur fossils — the tooth may be added to a future exhibit.  AL.com

  • More than 1,000 graduates earned their degrees at UA’s summer commencement at Coleman Coliseum—marking the first ceremony under President Peter Mohler. The event saw students from 48 counties in Alabama, as well as from several states and countries, graduate with honors and distinction.  The University of Alabama
