  • On June 27th at 8:10 p.m., Spring Creek Fire Department and support from McCords and Ellisville Fire Departments—along with Atrium Floyd EMS—quickly contained a lightning-induced attic fire in a Spring Creek home.  ABC 33/40
  • AAA Alabama warns drivers to slow down in rain and not use flashers while driving — experts say that hitting a water patch can cause hydroplaning and lead to loss of control, especially with nearly 5,700 deaths reported annually from wet pavement crashes. The agency advises drivers to pull over safely when driving conditions become too dangerous as more storms are expected this weekend.  WBRC

  • Thieves broke into Jake's Soul Food Cafe on McFarland Boulevard late Friday night by breaking through the ceiling + stealing all the cash from the register while leaving damage expected to cost more than the money taken.  Tuscaloosa Thread
