  • The ABC 33/40 team won an Emmy Award on June 14 for their Daytime Newscast coverage in a Medium Market at the Southeast Emmy Awards in Atlanta. News Director Jeff Cox led the team which included Megan Scarano, Valerie Bell, Austin Pratt, Riley Blackwell, Jeff Speegle, Josh LeBerte, Theo Brocato, Malik Banks and Bill Castle.  ABC 33/40

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Today, the UA board of trustees will meet at 1:30 p.m. in the Catherine and Pettus Randall Welcome Center Theater—where they will consider appointing the university’s 30th president. The meeting follows a search process that involved over 500 faculty, staff, students and community members as current president Stuart Bell plans to step down after 10 years.  The Tuscaloosa News
