- ➤ The Tuscaloosa City Council moved towards final approval for a scaled-down six-story Sports Illustrated Resort near Rice Mine Road after a Tuesday public hearing, though the final vote may be delayed until late June. Developers face a June 10 vote that must pass unanimously before a simple majority can confirm the plan — which now includes 76 timeshare units, 75 hotel-managed condominium units, 12,000 square feet of retail space and new outdoor amenities.
