ECONOMY NEWS

  • Temporary Emergency Services is offering a summer job program for Tuscaloosa youth ages 15 to 21 where they work 20 hours a week from Monday to Thursday for seven weeks at $13.35 per hour. Applicants must apply in person or online by May 26 at 5:00 p.m. with interviews scheduled May 27 to 29 and a required orientation on June 9.  Tuscaloosa Thread

  • Alabama baseball will play Tennessee today at 9:30 a.m. CT at Hoover Metropolitan Stadium in the SEC Tournament after a 4-1 win over Missouri, and the game offers a chance for the Tide to avenge a previous series loss during Tennessee's visit to Tuscaloosa.  The Tuscaloosa News
  • Nick Saban praised quarterback Ty Simpson as a mature and skilled leader while speaking at the Nick's Kids Foundation Golf Tournament—he noted Simpson’s strong development over three seasons with 50 pass attempts and three rushing touchdowns—and Simpson is expected to start Alabama’s 2025 season.  The Tuscaloosa News
  • On Tuesday, May 20, No. 9 seeded Alabama baseball met No. 16 seeded Missouri in the SEC Tournament at 9:30 a.m. CT in Hoover, with starters Tyler Fay and Sam Horn taking the mound—Alabama aimed to secure its 11th straight series win to advance to face No. 8 seeded Tennessee.
