  • Fifteen-year-old Will Roberts from Ralph began treatment for his (stage 4) osteosarcoma at the Sarcoma Oncology Center in Santa Monica after his viral plea mobilized national support; his family has scheduled additional doses for later this week.  Tuscaloosa Thread

  • The SEC baseball tournament scheduled May 19-24 in Hoover will use an experimental robot ump to review challenging calls. Teams can challenge decisions with an automated ball tracking system that shows results on the videoboard — marking a step forward for college baseball.  WBRC
  • Alabama football defensive coordinator Kane Wommack listed the five opposing quarterbacks the Crimson Tide will face.   • On May 5, Alabama softball's Jocelyn Briski earned SEC Pitcher of the Year and Patrick Murphy was named SEC Coach of the Year by USA TODAY Sports Network’s All-SEC team. Briski (20-2 record) impressed as the team headed into the SEC Tournament.  The Tuscaloosa News
