  • Tuscaloosa is set to host Southern Travelers Explore, a national travel conference taking place from March 18 to 21, 2027.   • Federal officials reclassified state-licensed medical marijuana as less dangerous on April 23 (easing federal restrictions) and set the stage for Alabama’s delayed medical cannabis program; Callie’s Apothecary is scheduled to open May 4 in Montgomery to serve patients with approved products.  The Tuscaloosa News

  • 15-year-old Will Roberts is fighting cancer and seeking an experimental drug after sharing an emotional plea on video; renowned biologist Gary Breca said he will secure the treatment while Dr. Oz reached out to his family (businessman Ric Mayers helped forward the plea to key officials).  Tide 100.9

  • Ty Simpson, the Alabama quarterback (15 starts last season) was picked 13th overall by the Rams in the first round of the NFL draft. He will join the team behind quarterback Matthew Stafford and bring his accuracy and leadership to the field.  The Tuscaloosa News
  • Nick Saban said on College GameDay that Ty Simpson needs more experience before taking an NFL starter role — he achieved 3,567 passing yards and 28 touchdowns in 15 games with the Crimson Tide.  The Tuscaloosa News
  • The Dolphins selected Alabama offensive tackle Kadyn Proctor with the 12th overall pick in the NFL Draft on April 23; Proctor, who started three seasons with the Crimson Tide, was known for strong blocking and trick plays and is expected to play immediately.  The Tuscaloosa News

The Teacher is responsible for directing all volunteer activities in the classroom. At minimum, possession of a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or comparable credential and have training or equivalent coursework in early childhood development with a focus on infant and toddler development
