  • High school students can experience the energy of the Blue Pride Marching Tiger Band during an open practice on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lyles Band Hall, part of Blue Pride Marching Tigers Week that also features a Battle of the Bands and Alumni Picnic.  Tuscaloosa Thread

  • Alabama’s First Class Pre-K program earned top marks for 20 straight years after Gov. Kay Ivey and the Department of Early Childhood Education announced its recognition (State of Preschool Yearbook) on Wednesday; it now serves more than 24,000 children statewide in over 1,500 classrooms.  ABC 33/40

  • The University of Alabama Board approved a new contract for men's basketball head coach Nate Oats, extending his deal through 2032 and raising his salary to $7.2 million — making him the fourth highest-paid coach in college basketball.  Tuscaloosa Thread
  • The University of Alabama Board of Trustees approved updated contract terms for several Tide football coaches on April 22 — including defensive coordinator Kane Wommack and general manager Courtney Morgan — and the team is set to start the 2026 season on Sept. 5.  The Tuscaloosa News
  • Alabama Crimson Tide head coach Kalen DeBoer has agreed to a new seven-year contract extension that will raise his salary to $12.5 million pending Board approval. DeBoer said he is excited to continue coaching in Tuscaloosa and build on the team’s success.  Tuscaloosa Thread
  • Keitenn Bristow announced his return to the Crimson Tide on Wednesday morning via a social media video (featuring a clip from The Wolf of Wall Street) for added depth as the team integrates several new transfers ahead of the NCAA season.  Tuscaloosa Thread
  • Keitenn Bristow announced he will return for his junior year in Tuscaloosa with Alabama basketball after appearing in 10 games this season. The forward, whose medical redshirt decision remains uncertain, stays with the Crimson Tide to support the team's frontcourt.  The Tuscaloosa News
  • The University of Alabama approved a new contract for basketball coach Nate Oats on April 22 that extends his deal through the 2031-32 season and raises his salary to $7.25 million with a $15 million buyout if he leaves before March 2027.
