- ➤ Blitz Week will run from today until Thursday as the United Campus Workers of Alabama and Friends of the Union ask UA workers to join the union and support a living wage campaign that calls for a $5000 cost-of-living raise and a $20 minimum wage. The events include a 6 p.m. meeting in ten Hoor Hall, table displays outside the Student Center from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. — a poster-making social at Riverwalk on Wednesday and a rally on Thursday — to build the union base. - ➤ The House approved an amended version of a bill that would let injured teachers keep their salary for up to 90 days and help pay for medical expenses. The bill, sponsored by Senator Sam Givhan, passed unanimously in the Senate in February and now awaits further approval from lawmakers. WBRC
