- ➤ Lulu Gribbon, 16, lost her hand and part of her leg in a shark attack on June 7th — she urged lawmakers to pass a bill for a shark alert system that warns the public of unprovoked attacks off the coast. Ivey praised the Senate for unanimously passing a bill that bans cell phones on public school properties and requires a social media safety course before the eighth grade; the companion bill passed in the House last week and the two bills will soon swap chambers before one is sent to his desk.
