- ➤ Alabama lawmakers in Huntsville passed a House bill that would give local counties a grocery tax holiday from May 1 to June 30 each year until 2028 and allow tax deductions on up to $1,000 of overtime pay, with the Senate set to vote in the next three working days. WBRC
- ➤ Alabama’s Senate approved more than $12 billion in an eight-bill education package on Thursday morning, keeping the Education Trust Fund bill consistent with the House version. Lawmakers expect concurring votes next week before the budget heads to Gov. Ivey for final approval. WBRC
