  • Party Wow party supply store announced that the Easter Bunny will visit its Tuscaloosa store on April 5th, 6th, 12th, 13th, 18th and 19th to offer free photos, refreshments, VR experiences and Easter crafts in a designated Bunny Burrow area at McFarland Plaza (2610 McFarland Boulevard). CULTURE NEWS

  • The City of Tuscaloosa is hosting the 16th Annual Druid City Arts Festival, a free two-day event featuring over 70 local artists and musicians with live music, kids' activities, and food. The festival starts today at Government Plaza (5 p.m. to 9 p.m.) and continues Saturday (10 a.m. to 5 p.m.).  Tuscaloosa Thread
  • Kentuck at Queen City opens today at the renovated Queen City Pool House off Jack Warner Parkway—designed by local architect Don Buel Schuyler—to display the Edward Guy Collection of folk art donated by longtime Kentuck leader Edward Guy. EDUCATION NEWS

  • A new Baby Steps program launched in Tuscaloosa to help pregnant college students finish their degrees by providing a furnished home near the UA campus (it offers on-site supervision, counseling, and a podcast with success stories). The program welcomed its first resident during a January soft opening and will soon house two more student moms funded by community donations.  WBRC

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • County leaders and local officials held a soft opening for the new Synergic Center on 5th Street in Northport, a 47,000-square-foot hub converted from the old FIS Call Center that closed in 2020.
