  • Tuscaloosa officials cut the ribbon Monday morning on 19 new pickleball courts at Bowers Park, replacing old tennis courts while adding a new restroom, improved lighting and security, and the return of a monument for J Oviatt Bowers (a boost for local recreation).  Tuscaloosa Thread

CULTURE NEWS

  • The Alabama Blues Project will host its 16th Annual Evening of Art and Blues fundraiser on March 27 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Dinah Washington Cultural Arts Center. The event will feature live music, food, live auctions + silent auctions and an art exhibit to raise funds for music education and community outreach.  The Tuscaloosa News
  • The Bicentennial Quilt is on display at the Catherine and Pettus Randall Welcome Center and celebrates Tuscaloosa’s heritage through Yvonne Wells’ design (with contributions from local artisans and the Bicentennial Commission).
