  • Tuscaloosa County Commission bought the nearly 90-year-old Bama Theatre and adjacent office space downtown for $3.5 million on March 14, keeping the venue public for concerts, movies and community events + it will partner with the Arts and Humanities Council and local school systems to expand performances.  ABC 33/40

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • Zumper (a rental marketplace) data show that Tuscaloosa apartments are now listed at a median of $1,400, up from February 2025’s $1,385, with one-bedroom units increasing 11% from February’s $900; the analysis covers studios to four-bedrooms and aligns with statewide trends.  The Tuscaloosa News

  • Four-star edge Jabarrius Garror (6-foot-2, 215-pound) decommitted from Alabama's 2027 recruiting class on Saturday after over a year of commitment.   • Northridge boys basketball is set to name a new head coach after school officials decided not to retain Barry Sanderson, who led the team to a Class 6A Area 6 Championship and an Elite Eight run.
