  • The Epsilon Mu Sigma Alumnae Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority will host a free symposium for youth ages 12 to 18 on Saturday, Mar. 7 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Holiday Inn Express Conference Room on Interstate Drive to cover mental health, social media and future planning.  Tuscaloosa Thread
  • Tuscaloosa City Schools will launch CEO+ next school year, a yearlong entrepreneurship program for high school juniors and seniors that blends in-class learning with daily visits to local businesses.   • Children’s of Alabama opened a new Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at its only freestanding pediatric hospital on Saturday. The unit merges special care and critical care areas to treat children with complex needs faster (supported by a $3 million foundation gift).  ABC 33/40
  • The FDA has recalled Elite Treats Chicken Chips for Dogs sold in Alabama and four other states after tests found them contaminated with Salmonella. Pet owners are urged to stop using the 6‑ounce bags (lot 24045) and clean feeding areas to keep pets safe.  AL.com
