  • Andrew Blake, a site supervisor for Habitat for Humanity Tuscaloosa, designed and built a 133 sqft modular house for disaster relief that can house up to four people (with a functional kitchenette, loft, and bathroom) and may serve as a prototype for future emergency response efforts.  The Tuscaloosa News

  • Over 500 community members attended The Genuine Elvis concert at the Bama Theatre last Friday as performers paid heartfelt tribute to Elvis’s legacy.   • Tuscaloosa Fire and Rescue conducted its special operations training today to practice extrication from overturned vehicles using airbags and a rescue jack + reinforcing key techniques among its 50-member team for emergency readiness.  WBRC
  • SGA presidential candidate Kyle Porter and his campaign manager posted over 150 campaign signs on the Quad early Wednesday morning, violating UA policy that allows only 20 signs per event (campaign permissions were approved for the allowed number); UA grounds staff later removed the extra signs.  The Crimson White

  • Crimson Tide won a close 2-1 contest against Alabama State in their first midweek game in Tuscaloosa today; reliever Bobby Alcock pitched two innings with one hit + Matthew Heiberger recorded the save as the Tide’s offense struggled to spark.  Tide 100.9
