- ➤ Congressman Aderholt announced last Thursday several student nominations from his district for U.S. Service Academies (including nominees from Indian Springs School and Tuscaloosa County High). - ➤ The Tuscaloosa National Airport received $8.5M in federal funding while city leaders plan to vote on an extra $13M upgrade for a modernized terminal (supporting TSA, Customs, and future commercial flights). - ➤ The University of Alabama has announced its homecoming game against the Texas A&M Aggies on (Oct. 24) in Tuscaloosa as the team aims to build on its winning streak and energize local fans. Tide 100.9
- ➤ Alabama basketball coach Nate Oats took his second technical foul on Feb. 5 during the Tide's 100-97 win over Texas A&M (he credited a Bible verse from Proverbs 19 for keeping his cool) and the team will face Auburn at Neville Arena on Saturday. The Tuscaloosa News
