  • The Croom Foundation, partnering with CivicCore Solutions and local organizations, has launched the Tuscaloosa County Home Energy Empowerment Initiative to help low-income households lower energy costs, with applications accepted until Sunday, Feb. 15.  Tuscaloosa Thread

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • A signed Appropriations Bill allocated $8.5 million for terminal renovations at Tuscaloosa National Airport as the city works to extend the runway and boost the game day experience for athletic charters (the project aims to help recruit airlines).  Tuscaloosa Thread

SPORTS NEWS

  • After a tough loss to the Gators, Alabama will try to bounce back in a game against Texas A&M at Coleman Coliseum. The Tide (led by Labaron Philon Jr.) are set to play today at 6:00 p.m. on the SEC Network.  Tide 100.9
  • Alabama football's 2026 recruiting class finished ranked No.2 in the 247Sports composite, with four five-star recruits, 10 four-star signees and 12 three-star players signed by coach Kalen DeBoer — the best ranking in the SEC — which sets strong expectations for the program.  The Tuscaloosa News
  • Alabama's backcourt duo, Labaron Philon and Aden Holloway, led a 100-97 comeback win over Texas A&M at Coleman Coliseum Wednesday night — Philon hit key three-point shots while Holloway sealed the game with a buzzer-beating play.  Tuscaloosa Thread
  • Charles Bediako's attorneys requested that the NCAA hearing be postponed (Feb. 16-18) so he can play Saturday against Auburn if approved. He received a temporary restraining order on Jan. 21 after UA's eligibility plea was denied.  The Tuscaloosa News
  • Seven former Alabama players, including rookie QB Jalen Milroe from the Seattle Seahawks, will compete in Super Bowl 60 on Feb. 8. This marks the highest number of collegiate players active for the NFL championship game.  Tide 100.9
  • Alabama football officially hired offensive line coach Adrian Klemm on Wednesday to replace former coach Chris Kapilovic. Klemm, a former Patriots lineman with over 15 years coaching experience at programs like UCLA + SMU, expects to boost team performance in Tuscaloosa.  Tuscaloosa Thread
  • Alabama Baseball will play in seven nationally televised games this season, including five games on the SEC Network + one on ESPN2 and one on ESPNU. The team will start its season on Feb. 13 by hosting Washington State at 4 p.m. CT.  Tide 100.9
