  • City crews will begin road work Monday, Jan. 5 on selected streets to improve travel flow; drivers are advised to plan for delays.  WBRC

  • Alabama men’s basketball won against Kentucky for their SEC home opener on Saturday, Jan. 3, as Aden Holloway scored 26 points + he helped end Kentucky’s comeback hopes. The Tide won 89-74 and improved their season record to 11-3.  Tide 100.9
  • Alabama basketball opened SEC play on Saturday at Coleman Coliseum against Kentucky, extending a three-game win streak and improving Coach Nate Oats' record (6-4) against the Wildcats while Kentucky leads the all-time series 114-43. The Tide last lost at home in 2021-22.  The Tuscaloosa News
  • On Saturday morning at Coleman Coliseum, Alabama's basketball team bounced back after Aiden Sherrell exited with a knee injury, as substitute forward Noah Williamson scored 10 points and grabbed 4 rebounds to lift the Tide to an 11-3 record.   • Aden Holloway tied his career-high with 26 points as No. 14 Alabama defeated Kentucky 89-74 on Saturday in Tuscaloosa. Labaron Philon Jr. added 17 points while center Aiden Sherrell left with a leg injury early in the game.  ABC 33/40

  • On Jan. 2, 2026, Alabama reserve offensive lineman CTOlaus Alinen confirmed on X (formerly known as Twitter) that he is entering the NCAA transfer portal with two seasons remaining, joining nine Crimson Tide players post-2025.
